On receipt of an enquiry, a quote for proofreading or editing work will be issued by FutureProof Editing, and a price agreed in writing before the work begins. If the client needs to add any further material after the work commences, a separate price will be agreed.
A deadline will be agreed for edited work to be returned to the client. Edited work will be emailed to the client at, or prior to, the agreed date and time, at the very latest.
Once the price and deadline are confirmed, a 25% non-refundable deposit will be payable in order for the work to begin. This will be deducted from the client's final invoice.
Fees are payable in full within 14 days (unless otherwise agreed) of the arranged deadline work to be returned to the client.
Payments can either be made by bank transfer with the client's name as the reference, or through PayPal.
A FutureProof editor will line edit or proofread work in Microsoft Word using track changes, making corrections directly in the document, and will also use comment boxes. Any changes made can be accepted or discarded by the client. A ‘clean’ copy of the document will also be provided, with all changes accepted (but including any comments, if any).
All original content delivered to FutureProof Editing is owned by the client. Following full payment of the due invoice, any content created by editors as part of the editing and/or proofreading process becomes the copyright of the client, unless otherwise agreed.
All work will be kept completely confidential and will not be made known to any third party without prior written permission of the client.
